International Model-submarine Association SONAR

The International Model Submarine Association SONAR e.V. is a German language non profit organisation of submarine modelers round the world. Until today approx. 370 modelers are members of SONAR, from the beginner up to the professional aged between 10 and 80 years. About 30% live abroad. Naturally the Benelux Countries and France are well represented. Also to our Scandinavian neighbors, Sweden and Norway we enjoy good contact to the members that live there. Also the Alpine countries Austria and Switzerland are represented. We are particularly proud that we could members win also from the USA and even from Australia for this beautiful hobby.
The communication between our widespread members works well due to our own newspaper SONAR, as well as via E-Mail, telephone or letters. The personal exchange of information and tips in regards to the hobby is also very popular.
Each year Submarine Meetings and participations in fairs and exhibitions take place, on which we talk shop intensively and also "sociability" does not come too briefly.

The Scale Ship Modelers Association of North America, Inc., (SSMA) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1988. Our purpose is to promote the hobby of radio control and static ship modeling. We encourage all types of model boating in electric, sail, and steam power as well as the building of plastic and wooden static models. SSMA is comprised of clubs and individuals throughout North America and acts as a clearing house for information concerning the modeling industry. SSMA works with the modeling industry to address the needs of the modeling community.
