D&E Miniature's R/C Submarine Model Building VHS Tapes
Submitted by Site Administrator

I recently received the new 2 tape set from D&E Miniatures called R/C
Submarine Model Building, and stayed up til the wee hours of the
morning watching both tapes.

David Merriman does all the work on
these tapes; he's running the camera, doing the commentary, and
building the model. David walks the viewer through the assembly,
detailing, painting and weather of one of Dave Copeland's 1/96 scale
Ohio class submarines.

Here are the breakdowns of what is covered in
this two tape set, along with the time into the tape for each section:

As you can see from the above activities, David touches on many
subjects for finishing the model; many of these same questions are
answered repeatedly by members on the SubCommittee Web site.

There are a lot of hints and tricks exposed to the modeler here. This tape
set is a great reference to beginners and experienced builders
alike. The newbies will get a great lesson in how to finish out
their model, and the more experienced builder will learn how the
realistic weathering that David has on his models is achieved, how to
correctly align for applying the zincs, and more. (Pay particular
attention to the simulated seagull poop!!)

This tape set is highly
recommended for everyone. David told me that he will also be
releasing another tape that will provide more detail to working with
and maintaining the D&E WTC, pondside/lakeside troubleshooting, and
more:
